New Year....New goals for 2010. It is back to work for me!
Today I met with my 2 new agents that are joining my team. Demi is starting her real estate licensing course tomorrow morning and Jonathan is getting ready to resign from corporate America to join me and my team. Jonathan is my son, Demi is the daughter of my lender partner Mark.
I am anxious to get them started in the biz.
We met at Starbucks this morning and talked further about real estate, the expectations, both mine and theirs. We also spent some time to make sure there is good energy between both Jonathan and Demi, since they will be feeding off of each other in the learning process. They were wide eyed and a bit nervous about this venture. The idea of working and not getting a weekly paycheck can be daunting.
After a successful meeting, I went back to the office and working on my new stationery for my Buyer/Seller packets. I am making myself crazy with the options. I need to just pick on and go with it.
Tomorrow is Monday...back out pounding the pavement.
I am meeting with a client that needs a rental in DC. I don't usually like to do rentals, but last time I said yes to a rental, it turned in to a $1.5 million purchase. Mariel is a referral from a good friend and colleague, Dinos. She needs to find a place quickly so she can move from New York to Washington for a government assignment.
I need to get started on my Senior Living work. That is my 2010 business focus, the senior market. I guess I should line up an appointment or 2 while I am in Friendship Heights tomorrow.

I am finally moved in to the Little Green House.
The movers showed up early Monday morning and loaded the truck and got ready to leave the townhouse. I promptly dropped everything I was doing, made sure my dog Cassie and 2 cats, McGee and Skittles were all accounted for, had their food, water and litter box and locked the door and followed the movers to my new Little Green House.
They unloaded everything smoothly and easily, except for the sectional sofa bed for the "Moose Lodge" downstairs. After taking the sofa around to the back of the house, taking doors off in sub zero weather and dismantling the sofa, the finally got it downstairs to "The Moose Lodge"
Once all was unloaded, I fed the movers (both lunch & payment) we immediately drove back to the townhouse to get the animals. All were accounted for except Skittles. Where can a cat hide when there is a completely vacant home??? She was found behind the dishwasher! Raymond had to remove the dishwasher completely and I nabbed Skitties. Safely in their kitty carriers and Cass safely in the back seat of the car, we took the furry family home to their new house.
After a full day of unpacking, we got ready for bed and I received a welcome to your new home gift....The Flu!
Welcome Home!
